Creating an altar is easy. All you need to do is pick a place and then let your creativity and intuition guide you. Altars can be set up and left throughout the year, be seasonal or be set with an intention in mind as needed. There are many things that you can place on your altar including: crystals, herbs, jars, tarot or oracle decks, dried or fresh flowers, pictures, personal items, skulls, candles, incense, singing bowls, any divination tool, deities or anything else that you feel belongs there.
Once you have picked a space to use for an altar, clear the area and give it a cleanse, sage is always a good option for cleansing this space. Once your space has been cleansed you can begin to place your items on your altar. Take your time, move items around until you feel happy with the way that your altar looks and feels.
It’s that easy!
If you decide to do a seasonal altar it will be changed every couple of months or so. You can also design your altar for a purpose.
